Welcome to Il Grifo, a restaurant in the heart of Montalcino that holds a special story, made of love, courage, and authentic flavors.

It all started in 2001, a summer like many others. Federico, a young Roman passionate about cooking, arrived in Montalcino for work. Between the stoves and tables of a restaurant, fate brought him to meet Mira, a sunny and talented girl with an innate love for culinary art.

A love at first sight, a special understanding, a love that blossomed between a plate of pici with ragù and a glass of Brunello di Montalcino. A love that, day after day, grew stronger, amid a thousand laughs and plans for the future.

Then, 2002, a difficult year that put them to the test. To help Federico's family, they moved to Abruzzo, a small town where life is marked by different rhythms. An intense and tiring year, far from the liveliness of Montalcino, but rich in lessons.

Despite the difficulties, they learned to manage a restaurant, got to know the traditions and culture of the place up close. But inside them was the awareness that this was not the life they wanted. They wanted to return to Montalcino to pursue their aspirations.

And so, in 2004, with the precious help of their parents, the dream came true: Il Grifo was born, a small restaurant. But the road was anything but simple. Fear, uncertainty, economic difficulties. Federico's father confronted them with reality, but his mother encouraged them not to give up, to believe in their dream.

When everything seemed about to collapse, an unexpected encounter changed the course of events. A friend encouraged Federico and Mira not to give up. "You have talent, passion, and a vision," he told them. "Don't be afraid to chase your dreams."

And so, Il Grifo took off. Federico was in the kitchen, Mira in the dining room, along with her brother. The first years were hard, but passion and dedication led them to overcome every obstacle.

Il Grifo today is an established restaurant, known for its authentic cuisine, its welcoming atmosphere, and the passion that animates every dish. A place where the love for cooking intertwines with a love story, of family and courage.
